We are a mid-sized family-owned company based in the heart of Baden-Württemberg. Our core competencies are the shredding and compacting of all kinds of waste.
WEIMA machines turn big into small again. Together with our customers, we lay the foundation for a world without (unused) waste.
At IFAT 2026 in Munich, WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH will present a further development of its shredding technology: the new high-torque drive for waste shredders of the W8 series. It will be used for the first time in the W8.15 PowerLine single-shaft shredder and has been specifically designed for particularly demanding waste streams. At the WEIMA booth, industry professionals will gain insights into the new drive technology and its impact on torque, throughput, and process stability. In addition, WEIMA will showcase its C.200 hydraulic press for dewatering and compacting packaging materials, metal chips, grinding sludge, and sewage sludge.

A UK-based company specializing in the manufacture of PVC polymer products has specifically expanded its internal recycling capacities. The aim was to process bulky plastic waste directly on site and return it to the recycling cycle instead of disposing of it at great expense. Production waste and rejects are reduced to a defined size by shredding and then processed into granulate. This granulate can be directly reintegrated into the manufacturing process. The result of the project is a closed material cycle with measurable economic and ecological benefits.

Production waste from wood processing does not necessarily incur high disposal costs. On the contrary, waste wood has enormous potential for energy recovery. A British furniture manufacturer, which produces large quantities of wood waste every day from offcuts, rejects, and various processing operations, recognized this opportunity.
Instead of disposing of the material at great expense, the company opted for a sustainable approach: shredding the waste wood into usable wood chips, which are then used as fuel for biomass heating.
At CEAD in the Netherlands, large-format 3D printing meets circular thinking. With a WEIMA WLK 4 shredder, the company efficiently recycles reinforced plastic waste and is now working with research partners to turn the flakes into new printing material.

The Spanish WURSI Group demonstrates how plastic waste can be recycled to a high standard on an industrial scale. The company processes around 1.500 tonnes of polypropylene and polyethylene into regranulate every month – with two WEIMA W5.14 single-shaft shredders as the central component of the recycling line.
