A company from the Netherlands uses a WEIMA C.200 Duo press to dewater fines from plastic recycling. For the customer, the investment has already paid for itself after twelve months. The machine is in daily use and has been regularly serviced and maintained by the company's own or WEIMA service technicians since installation. This commitment recently paid off for the customer. After 15,000 operating hours (within approx. 24 months), only WEIMA original parts were replaced as part of a service overhaul.
As part of the overhaul at WEIMA in Ilsfeld, the machine was completely dismantled, cleaned, glass bead blasted again and wear parts replaced exclusively with WEIMA original parts. The hydraulic units and press cylinders, which were still functional after around 15,000 operating hours, were replaced as a precautionary measure to ensure stable performance and operational reliability.
The gripper cylinders could continue to be used after a thorough inspection, as no impairments were found. After 15,000 operating hours (in approx. two years), the cutting plate also showed only minor wear and remained in use.
The general condition of the machine proved to be remarkably good despite the long period of operation. The inner surfaces of the pipes showed only minimal scratches, the agitator and the push pipes remained fully operational. The coolers also continued to function without any problems. The company’s regular maintenance has made a decisive contribution to maintaining the good condition of the dewatering press.
The overhaul of the WEIMA C.200 Duo dewatering press shows that the machine exhibits only minimal wear despite intensive use. The replacement was largely limited to typical wear parts.

By using a dewatering press, disposal costs can be reduced and processes made more efficient. Regular maintenance supports the long-term reliability and cost-effectiveness of the machine – for a second life.
