Technology meets art: WEIMA Wood Day 2024
On September 18, 2024, WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH in Ilsfeld opened its doors for the first WEIMA Wood Day. Numerous dealers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland gathered in bright sunshine and gladly accepted the invitation from the Wood Sales Division.
Good food, smiling faces and lots of wood: the guests were offered a lot.
The event began with a series of technical presentations. The focus was on the latest developments in shredders, briquetting presses and conveyor technology, which offered participants valuable insights into the company’s pioneering technologies. The guests had the opportunity to expand their specialist knowledge and engage in intensive discussions with experts.
“A very informative and interesting day with great discussions, presentations and a very special supporting program, which provided numerous new impulses and valuable insights for future projects. The relaxed atmosphere also encouraged exchanges between the participants and stimulated exciting new collaborations.”
After a culinary break – with traditional “schwäbischen Maultaschen” – a guided tour of the WEIMA campus followed in the afternoon. At the same time, impressive machine demonstrations took place in the technical center, where the performance of WEIMA machines was demonstrated using a wide variety of wood materials.

A special highlight of the day was the supporting program: Marcus Scholz, better known as Holzkunst Scholz, showed his skills with the chainsaw. In a very short time, he transformed massive pieces of wood into true works of art in front of the guests – including WL 4 Shredder,An owl made of birch wood and numerous “Groot” figures carved out of the block of wood.
