Moving into the future with a wealth of experience: Reorganization of the WEIMA America management team

Company Ilsfeld, 01.02.2022

Stable growth and sustained corporate success have prompted WEIMA America to further strengthen its management team. The previous VP of Sales & Marketing, Madison Burt, will become acting CEO. At the same time, Jeremy Boggs, formerly Regional Sales Manager for the Midwest and Central Canada, fills the Sales Manager position as National Sales Manager. As COO, Heiko Plankenhorn will assume future responsibility for the operational business of the WEIMA US subsidiary.

A solid foundation

WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH was founded in 1980 near Heilbronn, Germany. WEIMA started back then by supplying the first shredders for the wood industry. Soon machines for other applications such as plastics, paper, metal, waste, or biomass followed. In 1999, WEIMA finally founded its North American subsidiary in Fort Mill, South Carolina, not far from the metropolis of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Since then, WEIMA’s US commitment has developed into a true success story with a lot of heart and soul. The number of employees grew continuously over time to 54 employees today. Sustainable waste management solutions and recycling processes are more in demand than ever in North America – this was once again confirmed by the Open House Week that took place recently on the North American campus.

Stronger together

Madison Burt has been part of the WEIMA America leadership team for more than a decade. He led the sales and marketing department as one of three acting Vice Presidents until Jan. 01, 2022. As an alumnus of Mississippi State University, Burt has an excellent technical education. Prior to joining WEIMA America in 2002, he was employed as a sales manager for a U.S. hammermill machinery company.

Jeremy Boggs moves up as National Sales Manager

While Burt moves into his new role as CEO, Jeremy Boggs will take over as National Sales Manager. He has contributed significantly to the company’s success as Regional Sales Manager in various territories since 2007 and has established WEIMA as a premium brand of shredding and compaction machinery in the USA.

Heiko Plankenhorn oversees the operational technical business as COO

With his electrotechnical knowledge, which the Swabian acquired in Reutlingen prior to his emigration, he was initially employed as Technical Manager before being appointed Vice President of Technical Operations. From now on Heiko Plankenhorn will take over the operational technical business as Chief Operating Officer for WEIMA America.
