With a briquette diameter of 70 mm and an output of up to approx. 150 kg/h, the WEIMA TH 714/720 briquetting press is a high-performance machine within the TH Standard Series, designed for businesses handling large volumes of wood-based materials, paper, plastic and light metals. It offers wood processing and recycling-oriented companies a compaction solution featuring a robust press housing and modular equipment options.

The robust construction ensures high-quality, compacted briquettes, while the enclosed system minimizes dust emissions and facilitates integration into existing production and waste disposal processes.

High process reliability: An auger with universal joint increases resistance to foreign solids

The auger, which transports the material into the pressing chamber, is attached via a universal joint. This prevents foreign materials from causing damage to the auger. For metal applications, a rigid mount is often recommended.

Precise cylinder control thanks to contactless proximity switches

The machine operates with precisely defined cylinder movements throughout the entire pressing cycle. The cylinders are controlled electrically via a non-contact proximity switch. The limit switches are located at the front and rear positions to ensure consistent operation.

Flexible integration thanks to a modular machine design

The briquetting press can be adapted to a variety of installation and production conditions. The press unit, hydraulics, hoppers and accessories can be combined in a modular fashion and spatially adapted to the existing plant layout. Virtually any configuration is possible, such as combining a press and hydraulic unit installed indoors with an outdoor chip container, or an oil cooling system for use in multi-shift operation. To increase throughput and availability, Duo, Trio or Quattro versions are also available.

Variable hopper designs for every application

For the TH series, you have the choice between two hopper sizes: 1,400 x 1,400 mm or 2,000 x 2,000 mm. The pressing unit can be installed on the left or right side of the machine, depending on requirements. To produce briquettes in automatic mode, the feed hopper is equipped with a fill level monitoring system. With its help, the machine switches off automatically when the filling level falls below a certain level.

Ready for multi-shift operating times thanks to optional oil cooling

The machine is designed to operate under thermally stable conditions, even under heavy loads. An optional air or water cooling system compensates for temperature fluctuations in the hydraulic oil and keeps the oil temperature within the permissible range, even during three-shift operation. In addition, a safety switch protects the hydraulic system from overheating. This enhances operational reliability and supports continuous operation over long periods.

High-quality briquettes with low-maintenance clamping technology

The hydraulic clamp, with its hardened pressing jaws, ensures consistent briquettes with a diameter of 70 mm. This proven system has been used by thousands of customers worldwide for decades. In operation, this results in reliable briquette quality and a robust process design suitable for a wide range of applications.

Uniform, high-quality briquettes due to automatic length monitoring

Due to variation in the material stream, the briquette length is continuously measured, and adjustments are made in real time for optimized throughput. This simplifies downstream processes and ensures a uniform appearance of the discharged material.

Clean operation thanks to closed pre-compaction

Even before the actual pressing process begins, the loose material is compacted in a controlled manner. A filling slide in the filling tower performs vertical pre-compaction and ensures an initial reduction in volume within a closed system. This effectively limits the release of dust. In an industrial setting, this improves working conditions and enhances operational safety when handling dust-intensive materials.

Low-impact machine operation thanks to internally dampened hydraulic cylinders

Fast backward movements of the cylinders are cushioned by internal dampeners. This has a positive effect on the service life of the components.

Compact hydraulics thanks to a temperature-controlled unit

The hydraulic unit has a separate oil tank with pump, motor, and complete valve stack. Sharing the same base as the material hopper makes the entire briquette press an efficient, space saving design.

Stability due to robust machine frames and rubber feet

The machine can be set up securely and is easy to install. All WEIMA briquetting presses are supplied with vibration-dampening machine feet made of hard rubber. They ensure a safe footing without the machine having to be anchored to the floor. This makes the entire installation extremely flexible and convenient.

User-friendly operation thanks to touch screen HMI

To live up to our performance promise, we design and produce all control cabinets ourselves at our Ilsfeld site and equip them with brand name components. This guarantees the highest quality with a compact design. The PLC control is perfectly adapted to the requirements of the briquetting process.

Minimal wear thanks to replaceable protective components

To minimize unavoidable wear during the briquetting process, WEIMA uses easy-to-change PU plates bolted to the filling cylinder for pre-compaction in the filling tower. In addition, a wear sleeve is used in the pressing chamber below, which can be easily replaced. Overall, this significantly reduces maintenance costs.
