MFG DAY 2020: Manufacturing is here to stay

Markets shift. Times change. Things fluctuate. One thing that is here to stay through all of it is the manufacturing industry. On this MFG Day 2020, we celebrate the industry that keeps moving us all forward.

WEIMA is a manufacturer of shredders and briquette presses—recycling machinery to help other manufacturers be more efficient and environmentally friendly. The two-fold nature of this business is that the WEIMA team gets to create robust and sustainable products, but we also get to help other manufacturers do the same.

      Space to innovate

WEIMA machinery serves to reduce production waste down to size to reuse it, recycle it, or reintegrate it. These machines are on-site installations that frequently save companies money in haul-away costs. Shredding scrap frees up the floor space traditional needed to store bulky waste, which can add a degree of safety and even possibility to a company!

Square footage is valuable, and freeing that space up provides the opportunity to expand production lines—or to increase space between production lines in the era of COVID-19.

      A manufacturer for manufacturers

Every operation has its unique challenges and advantages. WEIMA understands that every business is different and has different needs, and we also acknowledged that a lot of those needs shifted drastically in the past few months. WEIMA has been open throughout the pandemic to support those manufacturers on the front lines of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Madison Burt, VP of Sales and Marketing for WEIMA America, Inc., is proud to be in manufacturing during this time especially.

“I consider WEIMA to be a support system for manufacturers, and in many situations, our machinery is a large part of what makes them successful. Because we are a manufacturer, we empathize with our customers and their needs,” says Burt.

      Flexibility for essential businesses

The COVID-19 pandemic changed everything, but the manufacturing industry answered the call and began to produce life-saving PPE, hygiene products, social distancing tools, medical devices, toilet tissue paper, more secure food packaging, and so much more. It is WEIMA’s privilege to help North American manufacturers move into a safer and more sustainable future. We are honored to be a part of the manufacturing sector today and every day.

Happy MFG Day to all the manufacturers out there who keep the world spinning! May we all collectively work toward a world without waste!
