What are the advantages of briquetting?

1. Significant volume reduction (up to 90 %)
2. Reduction in disposal costs
3. Cost reduction for logistics expenses
4. Increased revenue through briquette form
5. Recovery of coolant or emulsion

We compact your loose residual materials. With our high-end briquetting presses

Loose production waste takes up a lot of space and costs money. With a WEIMA briquetting press you save both! Briquetting reduces your storage costs and simplifies logistics. The compact form of the briquettes makes transportation easier and saves valuable storage space. In addition, the waste disposal process is optimized, which leads to considerable cost savings in the long term. This solution makes briquetting technology particularly cost-efficient and sustainable for many industries.

Technology in comparison: clamp press vs. matrix press

The best solution for every challenge - find out which technology suits your application
Clamp press
The power of tong technology: precision and strength in every briquette!
With clamp technology, the material is fed via a large hopper in which an agitator continuously transports the material to the transport screw. The screw transports a defined quantity into the pre-compactor tower, where the material is pre-compacted vertically into the compaction chamber bush. A hydraulic filling pusher then presses the material horizontally into the compaction chamber, which consists of two gripper sections at the top and bottom. The final briquette is formed in the pressing clamps by hydraulic pressure and ejected forwards with each cycle. This process ensures precise compaction and produces stable, long-lasting briquettes.

Matrix press
Perfect briquettes thanks to die technology - redefining industrial efficiency!
In die technology, the shredded material is fed into the chip container via a screw conveyor or manually. From there, a horizontal screw conveys a fixed quantity into the pre-compactor tower, which feeds the material vertically to the matrix. This is where the actual pressing process takes place: a large press cylinder with a press ram moves horizontally and presses the pre-compacted material against a stable metal wall behind the die. While the next pressing cycle starts, a pusher cylinder moves the die to create space for the next briquette. This technology ensures a consistently high briquette quality and is ideal for industrial applications with high throughput requirements.

Efficient briquetting of plastic waste - volume reduction for maximum savings!

Turning plastic waste into compact briquettes is the ideal solution for saving storage space and reducing disposal costs. In addition to traditional materials such as wood, paper and metal, plastics are also ideal for briquetting and volume reduction. WEIMA briquetting presses compress shredded plastic waste such as polystyrene, films, fibers, dust (e.g. polyurethane) and textile waste into robust briquettes. This makes even light plastic waste space-saving and easy to handle – perfect for recycling and environmentally friendly disposal solutions in many industries.
