The recently concluded WasteExpo 2023 in New Orleans, held from April 30 to May 3, provided a platform for industry leaders to showcase their latest innovations in waste management and recycling. Among the impressive exhibits at the event, one particular machine stood out and captured the attention of attendees: the WEIMA PowerLine 3000, an enormous shredder that left onlookers in awe.

So long, New Orleans

The WEIMA PowerLine 3000 shredder boasted an immense rotor, spanning an impressive 3 meters in width and 800 mm in diameter. Adorned with a staggering 240 durable cutting knives, the static shredder allowed show attendees to approach and even touch the massive rotor, providing them with a firsthand experience of its magnitude. Witnessing the PowerLine up close served as a testament to the extraordinary capabilities of the machine, leaving visitors amazed by its sheer size and power.

The inclusion of the PowerLine shredder on the show floor allowed WEIMA to highlight its unique features. The machine's oversized infeed hopper showcased its ability to process large volumes of waste efficiently. Equipped with a hydraulic drive for enhanced flexibility in shredding mixed waste streams, the PowerLine can also be fitted with an electric drive or a mechanical drive, making it suitable for more consistent waste streams.

PowerLine 3000: Built to last

Recognizing the importance of proper maintenance for the longevity of any machine, WEIMA showcased the user-friendly maintenance features of the PowerLine. The screen basket, which ensures a consistent particle size after shredding, can be easily opened for cleaning during maintenance. The lift-up door of the machine provides convenient access to the rotor knives and bed knives, facilitating routine maintenance tasks. The 60 mm knives can be rotated up to four times to keep the material throughput optimal and prolong the life of the machine.
