The recycling specialist from Ilsfeld is presenting two large single-shaft shredders this year at the K trade fair. Both machines are genuine multi-talents and can be used either as a stand-alone solution or as part of a production line. The WKS 1800 and WLK 1500 shred not only bulky objects, but also tear-resistant fibers and film to a homogeneous size. The first step on the road to producing high-quality reclaim.
There is hardly a material that is currently so in the public eye as plastic – or one that is such a subject of controversial debate. In these days of bans on plastic bags and debates about drinking straws, consumers are becoming more and more conscious of their use of resources and are open to sustainable alternatives. That is forcing a large number of producers to think again. And that quickly brings them to consider plastic recycling. And that’s where WEIMA comes into the equation.
WKS 1800: With low-maintenance inspection flap and swing ram for top performance
In order to have sufficient power reserves to handle even a full hopper of difficult material, the WKS 1800 single-shaft shredder is equipped with a sturdy hydraulic drive. Stopping, starting and reversing the rotor is possible at any time, even under the toughest conditions. Its simple structure and fast reactions make it resistant to practically any kind of impurity. High torques even with low power input make this drive extremely energy-efficient – for lower operating costs.
WEIMA focuses on innovation and efficiency also when it comes to material feeding. Instead of a horizontal ram, the WKS Series has a swing ram system. That makes the shredder very compact and allows a more aggressive material infeed. Together with the generously dimensioned inspection flap, the machine is easy to service and maintain at all times. Knife changing has never been so easy.
Thanks to its particularly low feeding point at a height of approx. 2.20 meters, the WKS can be easily charged by conveyor belt, forklift truck or by hand. With a rotor diameter of approx. 500 mm, the WKS 1800 is up to any task.

WLK 1500: Sturdy engineering and new safety features for universal operation
The WLK Series single-shaft shredders stand for sturdy machines that effortlessly do their job. New at the K 2019 is the modified WEIMA WAP gearbox. Its safety clutch now protects the shredder even better from impurities. Automatic stopping is therefore possible at any time.
Shredding of thin film or fibers? No problem. Clogging is prevented by the segmented floor guide and the precise guidance of the ram that presses the material to be shredded against the rotating rotor.
WEIMA WLK 1500 Single-Shaft Shredder
The hydraulically lowered swivel screen basket installed as standard improves accessibility and thus simplifies maintenance work. Furthermore, all WLK shredders have a Pipespacer hopper that prevents material bridging – An important aspect when, for example, shredding large purgings.
The WLK Series shredders can be fitted with either the universal V-rotor or the F-rotor developed specially for film and fibers. In addition, a vautid wear protection coating is available as an option for particularly abrasive materials. Both rotor variants have a diameter of approx. 370 mm.
